Wastewater treatment
Ceit's Water and Waste Group has over 30 years experience in researching advanced technologies for the treatment of urban and industrial wastewater.
Thanks to a multidisciplinary team that integrates knowledge of biology, biochemistry, mathematical modeling and engineering, the research group has capabilities for both experimental analysis and the development of simulation tools related to a wide range of treatment technologies for the removal and recovery of organic matter and nutrients in wastewater.
Ceit has extensive experience in a wide range of technologies, including:
-
Biological systems on fixed or mobile support for removal of organic matter and nutrients (biofilters, MBBR and other biofilm processes).
-
Biological systems in combination with membranes (MBR, AnMBR, advanced forward osmosis systems).
-
Advanced systems for the elimination of N and P (processes in suspension or with fixed biomass with different configurations, Anammox).
-
Development of technological solutions for the elimination of emerging compounds in wastewater.
