Environmental management requires advanced tools in order to optimise the use of resources, reduce impacts and facilitate the transition towards circular models. We develop solutions based on modelling and simulation of dumping, water treatment and recovery and also waste valuation networks – both organic and inorganic – by integrating technologies such as digital twins, artificial intelligence, and monitoring and sensorization systems. These capacities enable operative efficiency to be improved, risks anticipated, and decision-making supported in complex environments, also incorporating specific cybersecurity measures for critical infrastructures that are linked to water and the circular economy.

Water

We develop solutions for efficient management of the complete water cycle, both within urban and industrial contexts. We have a proven track record in the modelling and simulation of water treatment networks and plants, which enables us to optimise the design and operation of sanitation and dumping systems. Additionally, we promote resource recovery technologies in wastewater, such as nutrients and compounds with added value, using advanced biological and physicochemical processes.

Waste

We are working on the development of waste valuation technologies, which are geared towards transforming both organic and inorganic fractions into by-products with high added value. In the case of organic waste, we apply processes such as fermentation and biomethanization with a view to generating biogas and bioproducts, while in the case of inorganic waste, we develop sustainable processes such as hydrometallurgy for the recovery of critical materials, as well as separation and purification techniques using advanced filtration.

Digitalisation for the circular economy

We promote digitalisation as a key tool in developing a more efficient, resilient circular economy. We develop tools to help with decision-making based on advanced simulation, environmental analysis (LCA, water and carbon footprint) and financial assessment, and create digital twins to enable water and waste valuation processes to be simulated, monitored and optimised in real time. Additionally, we apply artificial intelligence with a view to improving the efficiency of treatment and anticipating any incidents, and we also integrate sensorization and cybersecurity systems to ensure the robust and secure control of environmental infrastructures.
