Projects
HEAT3D
New High Efficiency Heat Management Systems obtained via Additive Manufacturing.

Summary
HEAT3D involves the development of three high-efficiency thermal heat management systems, contributing towards the sustainable development and the circular economy: heat exchangers for solar thermal power plants, injection moulds for the car sector and dissipators for electric vehicles. The project uses sintering-assisted additive manufacturing (AF) technology developed by Innomaq21, using nickel-based superalloy metal powders, tool steels and copper alloys with high thermal conductivity.
Objectives
- Develop new sustainable high-efficiency heat management systems via the design of metal alloys in powdered form and their processing via sintering-assisted AF.
- Contribute towards the sustainability of additive manufacturing technology involved in the project.
Ceit’s role
Ceit is taking part in the development of metal powders obtained via atomisation, which involves identifying the optimum process parameters for each family of materials and undertaking their microstructural, thermal and mechanical characterisation.
