CEIT-IK4's booth at the InnoTrans Trade Fair visited by hundreds of industry experts interested in the technologies on offer
InnoTrans is the largest international trade fair for the railway sector, and it is held every two years in Berlin. With a large number of reference projects and more than 220 transport technology companies, the InnoTrans platform is an international showcase for industry buyers and vendors.
During the last week of September, more than 125,000 professionals from 49 different countries visited the nearly 2,700 exhibitors representing the areas of railway transport, innovative components, vehicles and communication systems.
CEIT-IK4's exhibition booth drew in many international experts who were interested in the technology on display. Inside the booth, visitors were able to examine the research centre's wheel-track contact demo machine, balise evaluation tool (BET), on-board location system (ATLAS), several power converters, and augmented reality tools for maintenance and repair.
CEIT-IK4 has been working in the railway sector for over 25 years. Currently, three departments are developing projects and carrying out research on this complex technology:
- Applied Mechanics (Railway dynamics and Augmented reality)
- Electronics and Communications (Signalling systems and Power converters and energy storage)
According to Jaizki Mendizabal, researcher from the Department of Electronics and Communications, “the visit to the trade fair was very satisfactory. We met with our current clients and had conversations with potential clients regarding the development of interesting projects in the future.”
