From 14 to 18 June 2026, the Montanyà Hotel in Seva (Barcelona) will host the 10th Water Resource Recovery Modelling Seminar (WRRmod2026), the leading international conference on advanced modelling of water treatment plants and water resource recovery. The event is organised by the technology centre Ceit, together with the University of Navarra and the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and will bring together scientists, engineers and water management professionals from around the world.

The seminar will serve as a meeting point between applied research and industry, with a special focus on real case studies, best practices and tools that optimise the design and operation of water facilities.

The programme will begin on 14 June with a Young Water Professional Workshop, followed by parallel technical workshops on 15 June. The main technical sessions will take place from 16 to 18 June and will include presentations by international experts, including Eduardo Ayesa, executive president and researcher at Ceit, who will participate as Keynote Speaker opening the event on 15 June.

Strategic workshop: Challenges of the new UWWTD directive

Within the framework of the conference, on Monday 15 June, Ceit co-organises in parallel the workshop “Digital and process solutions for compliance with the UWWTD”. This session is key in the current legislative context, as it will address the technical and economic challenges arising from the new Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive (UWWTD). It will analyse how digital and process technologies can facilitate adaptation to the new regulatory requirements, fostering discussion on the advantages and limitations of current solutions.

The conference is supported by leading companies in the development of software tools for water treatment, including DHI and Dynamita Process Modelling as Platinum Sponsors, and AM Team and Hydrens as Silver Sponsors.

All information and registration are available on the official conference website.
