The Ceit technology center, along with thirty-three other Basque organizations, will participate in the 10th edition of Emakumeak Zientzian, a project that highlights the contribution of women in science and technology and promotes equal participation in scientific research. The event will take place from February 2 to 11, 2025, coinciding with the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, celebrated annually on February 11.
Under the slogan “Marea bizia gara / We are a living tide”, this edition emphasizes how individual contributions create a collective movement that drives a more open, connected, and fair science. The project aims to inspire scientific vocations in girls and young women, fostering a culture of equality and collaboration between women and men in research and technological innovation.
A wide range of activities for all audiences
The 2026 Emakumeak Zientzian program will feature over 60 activities across the Basque Country, aimed at audiences of all ages. Workshops, round tables, and visits to research centers will bring science closer to society and highlight the role of women in scientific and technological development. The official opening will be held on February 6 in Bilbao, honoring the women scientists and technologists of the participating organizations.
Ceit opens its doors to students
As part of the program, Ceit will host a school visit for secondary education students, providing them the opportunity to explore applied research projects developed in collaboration with companies from various sectors. The visit will include a tour of the laboratories and direct interaction with Ceit’s female researchers, who will share their professional experience and their key role in technological development.
