Ceit works to establish the central section of Line 9 of Barcelona Metro

●    The technology centre is working with Infraestructures de Catalunya and TMB to build the central section of Line 9 of Barcelona Metro, which will connect the University Area with La Sagrera.

Through a joint venture to which AV Enginyers belongs, is working with Infraestructures de Catalunya and Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) to build the central section of Line 9 of Barcelona Metro, which will connect the University Area with La Sagrera. This section runs underground, with a double-height tunnel through which driverless trains will run.

Specifically, Ceit will carry out an exhaustive analysis of the railway rolling conditions and will model the track and the vehicles in detail. To this end, as explained by Borja Rodríguez, a researcher from the centre's Railway group, "multibody models will be developed together with theoretical models of the track, which will allow a characterisation of the dynamic behaviour".

The centre’s work will help to establish guidelines to avoid problems with train circulation after this section is built. The project started in January this year and will last nine months.
