24 | 10 | 2023

Ceit will be organising the 25th world congress in laser precision microfabrication, to be held from 11th to 14th June 2024 at the Kursaal in San Sebastián.

The main aim of LPM2024 is to provide a forum for discussion and collaboration about microfabrication using laser, future technologies and the laser market in the future.

So far, the LPM has previously been successfully held in cities throughout the world, from Kyoto to Washington DC.

Donostia-San Sebastián, 24th October 2023. Miniaturization and high precision have become basic requirements in numerous industrial processes and products. Within this context, the use of laser microfabrication approaches has given rise to growing interest among the scientific community and industry. The International Symposium on Laser Precision Microfabrication (LPM) has become established as a leading congress in this field, having alternated between Japan and other host countries over the past 25 years. So far, the LPM has been successfully held in cities throughout the world, from Kyoto to Washington DC.

25th anniversary of the Congress

The 25th congress, titled LPM2024, will be held from 11th to 14th June at the Kursaal in Donostia-San Sebastián, and will be organised by the Ceit Technology Centre. The main aim of the congress is to provide a forum for discussion about the fundamental aspects of laser-material interaction and the current state of material processing using laser. The event will bring together scientists, end users, laser manufacturers and industry experts throughout the world.

It is hoped that LPM2024 will not only play a crucial role in understanding basic knowledge about laser precision microfabrication, but also constitute a forum for discussion about future microfabrication technologies using laser and their application on the market.

The congress is being jointly organised by its founder – the Japanese association JLPS (Japan Laser Processing Society). In addition, the event also features the following collaborating organisations: BRTA (Basque Research Technology Alliance), Aimen, Secpho, Tekniker and the University of Barcelona.

Registration and deadline for sending contributions

Registration for the congress is open as of today via the congress website. The deadline for sending submissions will remain open until 31st January 2024 and the official language of the LPM2024 Congress will be English.

Ceit hopes to welcome researchers, engineers and industry experts from all over the world to San Sebastián, with a view to exploring the latest innovations in laser precision microfabrication, gaining insights into this vital sphere of activity for modern industry, and providing unique opportunities for collaboration and exchange of knowledge.
