On 22 January, Ceit will host the conference “Innovation in Europe for the Future of Railways”, which will take place in the morning at the Central Building of the Miramón Technology Park in Donostia-San Sebastián.

The event will bring together leading stakeholders from the railway sector to share and discuss advances developed within the framework of European R&D projects, highlighting the role of applied research and international consortia in shaping the railway system of the future. The conference is designed as a technical and strategic exchange forum, aimed at presenting real-world experiences and fostering new collaboration opportunities.

Railway infrastructure, maintenance, digitalisation and operations

Throughout the day, several key areas of the railway system will be addressed, including infrastructure, maintenance, digitalisation and railway operations. The programme will combine technical presentations with a strategic perspective and discussion sessions, adopting a practical approach focused on the real challenges facing the sector.

The agenda will feature a keynote address by Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking, focusing on the European vision for the future of railways, as well as sessions dedicated to innovation in railway maintenance and infrastructure and to the role of digitalisation and autonomous vehicles as enabling technologies for railway operations. The programme will conclude with a round table discussion on the role of public administrations in the development of the railway sector.

Confirmed speakers include representatives from ADIF, Sener, Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking, SPRI, CAF, Voestalpine, ETS, RENFE and Teltronic. The event is aimed at professionals interested in learning about European experiences and developments in railway innovation and in taking part in a technical and strategic exchange forum.
