Ceit to showcase its capabilities for the wind industry at the WindEurope 2024 international event

04 | 03 | 2024

The leading companies in the European wind energy sector will attend the WindEurope international event that will be held at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre BEC! in Barakaldo (Bizkaia) between March 20 and 22.

The Ceit technology centre will exhibit its latest onshore and offshore wind energy-related technological solutions at its stand in the Basque Energy Cluster area (Hall 1 -A80)

The main players in the European wind energy value chain will once again come together between March 20 and 22 at WindEurope 2024, which will be held at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre, BEC! in Barakaldo (Bizkaia). The event will showcase the latest breakthroughs in the sector, which is particularly important as wind is set to become one of the main sources of electricity on the continent.

Over the course of three days, guests will be able to take part in a comprehensive conference programme, along with multiple networking sessions, different themed areas, and the opportunity to meet up with other key industry players on the exhibition floor.

More than twenty years of experience in the sector

The Ceit technology centre is a member of the Basque Research and Technology Alliance (BRTA) and will have a prominent presence at the fair at its stand (Hall 1 -A80) alongside the Basque Energy Cluster. The technology centre will present its solutions for the energy sector at its stand, ranging from designing and developing new mechanical, structural and electronic components, and digitalising operations and maintenance, such as implementing new remote monitoring systems and corrosion detection and communications systems in hostile environments (e.g. underwater), to recycling components in order to promote the circular economy.

More than twenty years of experience in collaborating with the leading wind energy companies has allowed the technology centre to offer ad hoc onshore and offshore wind energy solutions to the industry.

Pintxos and networking sponsored by R&D projects

Each of the three days of the event, the Energy Cluster stand will organise a pintxo and networking session. Each of the days will be sponsored by an R&D project in which the cluster participates.

The first day will be sponsored by the Integria project, in which Ceit participates. The project aims to develop a digital model for the management of the structural integrity of floating wind turbines by combining sensor technology for in-service monitoring and physical models applied to critical components.

The European Willow project will sponsor the session on Thursday 21 March, which will be presented by Ainhoa Cortés, co-leader of Ceit's Electronic Systems and Communications group. Willow, led by Ceit, offers an innovative solution for wind farm operators. It aims to provide a data-driven, open source, smart curtailment solution to balance energy production and consumption over the lifetime of wind farms. This is achieved by developing a structural health monitoring system, which uses high quality data and Physical Modelling to assess the lifetime of the fleet and schedule maintenance efficiently.
