HIMUGI
Hydrogen Propulsion System with Applications in Mobility and Transport.
Summary
Hydrogen can be deemed a strategic energy vector owing to its high energy density and its generation potential from renewable sources, thus making it an alternative to fossil fuels. Using it requires safe and efficient technologies for production, storage and usage, as well as the development of a viable supply infrastructure.
The aim of HIMUGI is to develop a hydrogen-based propulsion system for mobility and transport purposes. The project focuses on the design of more sustainable hydrogen tanks, research into critical metal components using innovative manufacturing techniques, and the implementation of digital safety methodologies to ensure that the system operates reliably
Objective
Design and develop light, sustainable and highly efficient type IV hydrogen storage tanks for mobility applications, thus increasing supported pressure, recyclability and versatility in terms of their geometry.
