PhD thesis in Digital twins development for induction hardening treatment

Induction Heating Technology is an advanced thermomechanical treatment of steel. It spans multiple areas of physics including electronics, electromagnetics, thermodynamics and mechanics. With the aim of controlling every step of the process, the proposed research theme is focused on the development of digital twins to predict the system outcome. Our objective is to apply intelligent networking to bridge both the real and the digital process. This strategy would allow to act in real time, which will result in important advantages such as minimizing manufacturing failures and process optimization.

Requirements

Master Degree in: Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics.

Date of degree: 2019 or later (excluding Final Project)

Language: English/Spanish

Offer

One-year contract with annual renewals for 3 years.

The candidate will be trained in SW and HW needed for IHT modeling. The doctoral thesis is framed in an ongoing industrial project.

Salary and schedule: Commensurate with candidate profile and position type.

23 days + Christmas holiday (24 Dec–2 Jan).
