Within CEIT, the research activities of the Environmental Engineering Department (EED) mainly focus in the water engineering field. In particular, research and technological work offered by the EED is aimed at optimising the design, operation and control of treatment technologies for water, sludge and solid wastes.
For this purpose, the R&D projects carried out by the Unit combine the most advanced techniques in mathematical modelling and automatic control with experimental analysis at testing and full-scale. The EED expertise has been building for more than 25 years and is based on a close collaboraton with both private companies and water authorities.
The topics that best cover most of our research and technological activities are: mathematical modelling, simulation, automatic control, wastewater treatment technologies, water industry, sludge, solid waste.
