Traditionally the Applied Mechanics Department has been arranged in two research units:
Experimental Analysis and Design
This unit focus its activity on control of noise vibration and mechatronic design. That way, the unit helps automotive, rail, naval, manufacturing, aeronautical and home appliance industries.
Simulation
The unit focus on simulation, augmented reality and training simulators. The unit provides solutions for automotive industry, transportation, aerospace, railways, machine tools and machinery in general.
Given the increasingly interdisciplinary and complex nature of the problems undertaken by those R&D Units, different working groups has been established in which researchers of the two units may be involved: Haptics, Graphics, Cognitive, Training Simulators, Biomechanics, Noise and Vibrations, Railway.
